About the same. Depends more on the geometry of the bike than whether it has a rear shock or not. Its all about finding the balance point

the key is to be able to get your feet out fast enough when you go past a certain point - only if you can get them out before you land solid on your ass can you wheely untill then you are only trying

I have first hand experience.

 

Also, make sure your butt cheeks connect mother earth at the same time, offsetting this timing is not advised.

 

Wheelying with flat pedals and a dropped seat to start off with is a good way to practice.

I have seen guys attempting this skill with bananas and boiled potatoes in the back pockets of their shirts......needless to say when the skill goes south they all have a sudden attack of vanilla coloured diarrhoea.

 

They also seem to shrink in stature after an event like this......
