Just want to bring your attention to these guys.. They are advertising on Gumtree. I gave them a call to see just how their prices were so low. When a Nigerian answered it was quite obvious... I told him one of my reps would be coming to view the wheels this week and suddenly his week was full of meetings.

 

Give him a call its quite fun to hear how excited he gets about a sale...

Place an ad on junkmail for a fast moving item like a cell phone at a very good price, use the scammers email address and phone number - he will be kept busy with lots of calls!Place numerous ads, cars, boats, camping equipment etc - waste his time for a change!

We put a team mates car in the classifieds 1 day selling his Polo GTI for R60 000 cash as he needs the money to immigrate ASAP... The Sat morning he went on to field 10am, came off at Lunch (12:45) , had 320 missed calls LOL...

True enough but anybody online these days can't be that naive?

 

Junkmail/gumtree etc have warning on the home page about scamming methods.

 

Fake parts are another thing completely....no real protection against that other than many years of experience and a scpetical mind.

 

It's sad that the olde "word is my bond" means squat and we have to protect ourselves against our fellow man but the digital age means having to be digital savvy...

 

If in doubt ye olde "if it's toog ood to be true..." adage should work. If your spidey senses tingle do some research...
