Look at the Santini's. They are also super comfy and last for years. I purchased my Santini's back in 2009 and they still look and feel great.

I own two pair of Assos bibs and they are simply amazing. The amount of protection they give you jimny is better than any other brand. I also have a pair of Pearl Azumi which compares fairly well on all levels. Can't go wrong with Assos.

Bought a pair of Craft at 94.7 expo from Solomons for R600 which i wore on race day, very happy.

Put an Assos on your ass and you'll throw that crap away

Not read all the replies, but I can easily say the money spent on Assos bibs has been the best money investment of all the cash that I have spent on my riding.

Has anyone tried the First Ascent Compression Bibs? I got them just before Amashova. R899 and super comfortable snug fit. Chamois is tops too (IMO).

I have Assos and First Ascent both which cost a lot more and found comfort wise Craft equal to them.

Most bibs >R1000 will do a good job.

>R2000 should do a fantastic job.

Assos and Santini (gel versions particularly) get my vote.

Santini (and most Italian brands) can be a bit difficult to get the right fit though.

Bit of a highjack. I bought a pair of Nalini bibs for a steal (R900) at the Nalini stall at the Cyclechallenge expo. They are there every year to sell stuff quite cheaply.

Great quality, and comparable to Assos and Satini and Giordana.

Problem is, I want to buy more of the same - at the same price :-)

Does anybody who they are/were. The local agents? Contact number please?

Thx

I've never been able to convince myself to spend the extra money on Assos bibs - but after reading all of this I'm starting to wonder! I like the Italian brands (Giordana, Santini, Nalini, F-Tech) and have had very good service from all of these brand's bibs. I also like the fact that Santini and Nalini still makes chamois from real leather...

The first pair of Assos you buy is always the difficult one. After that you ask yourself why you waited so long!
