Whose to say Solomons are at fault. Maybe the supplier hiked up their prices. Maybe thete was a worldwide increase in the steel price. The Rand has depreciated by 30%. Maybe R99 was last month's special. Maybe the owner realised they were selling their stuff too cheap and a R50 increase would make them more profitable and still be cheaper than other shops.

Solomons are not a charity, they serve the same core function than 99% of all business and that is to make as much profit as possible.

I've only had good service from Solomon's. Having a (big) shop means overheads that web shops don't have so don't expect the same prices. They do carry a massive stock level and will always hassel the suppliers to get what they dont have, and quote you a cost plus price there and then. The rand weakness has come through on most stock items - like cassettes, bbs, chains and chain rings. Don't compare a web price without first confirming stock first. I ordered a tool for R229 online only to be told that the new stock was R419. Solomon's gets my buck anyday.

Sadly I am sure they will win..... I have already bought the product but it will be nice to hear the excuse. Normal one of 2. Rand dollar although the 10 plus has been around for many months, or suppliers. But being me i will go ask anyway but with first hand honest research done before ..... Best I go on a friday - friday fight club :-)
