Anything more than 12 it should've read. And that's my opinion - not necessarily what others may agree on

Thank you for all the information, Gerald. Where can I see my road seeding?

@shaper the seeding for this race gets done using the results available to the timing company. The PPA seeding is merely an indication and only used for WP races

Not WP, but Racetec races, therefore including e.g. Serengeti, etc.

I stand under correction, but the PPA seeding is only used to seed for PPA organised events, and not for other events.

Cycle Events uses their own database of which most of the Gauteng (and nearby provinces) races are organised by them.

Sereghetti would have been seeded using Cycle Events database, not PPA.

Anyone in the know should agree/correct me

The seeding lookup on www.pedalpower.org.za/index.php/results-seeding/seeding/seeding-lookup/ is just an iframe to results.pedalpower.org.za/findme.aspx?ss=1 . Do a nslookup on results.pedalpower.org.za and you will see it is the racetec server:

$ nslookup results.pedalpower.org.za

results.pedalpower.org.za canonical name = results.racetec.co.za.

Name: results.racetec.co.za

Address: 197.96.19.17

Onetime I had a query about seeding at a number collection for a Cycle event + Racetec race. I got directed to racetec employee.

For these reasons, I believe that the seeding that you see on the ppa site is the same as what is used for non ppa racetec races.

Interestingly, my Carnival city 2013 results are in that seeding data. You guys give them the data to use for 94.7. (Which we do appreciate) I think they then use that data for for other races. However, they then don't reciprocate, and make their data available for championchip race seeding. :cursing: :cursing: This is nasty anti-competitive behaviour on racetec's part.

On a more personal issue: my current racetec seeding index: 23. My current champion chip seeding index (caculated by hand, guessing beta's, and no time penalties): 48 :thumbdown: . So I expect to be doing to some TTing at Carnival City 2014.

Having fun and games trying to enter, Champion reg site asks for my id and chip number, enter the chip number which i looked up using their look up option on their site and when i input it on the reg page it tells me there is no such number. I can even update my details on the site but not reg for a race :whistling:
