Modderfontein reserve trails

Recommended Posts

Also expect some traffic on the singletrack, as it is infested with noobs who are just starting out

All of you idiots bitching about the trees, FFS! It's a nature reserve aimed at conservation. Consequently they want to remove alien vegetation. If those stumps were rocks you wouldn't bitch. It's a mountain bike trail, not a soft play area.

Sorry :(

I wouldn't be. That was possibly the most arrogant statement I've seen today.

If you ride the Red about 40km , and add the Black sections. There are two sections they make up another 7km. A big hill in the black section.

I asked Neal about that, it's not black in terms of OMG I need bigger gonads, just they labelled it black till they came up with names.

I think it's called Klondike now,

Has anyone tried the "new" section at Modders, just before the river section, over the tar road?

Those rocks make for an interesting climb. I enjoyed the additional variety.

Yep very cool, a bit tricky as my first ride on the mtb in a few months, but simple enough for a first timer to do it, very different to the rest of the route which is awesome.

  • 1 month later...

I thought the new section was pretty average, trails need to be ridden in still. Maybe I will enjoy it after I know the trails and do it again next time. But nothing beats the river section!
