Two cyclists were injured yesterday when a truck lost a load of crates containing empty bottles on the N12.

ER24 Paramedics and local fire services were called to the scene between Potchefstroom and Klerksdorp to find that two cyclists had been injured when the load came of the back of the truck....

They sustained moderate injuries and were treated by paramedics on the scene before being transported to the Potchefstroom Hospital for further medical treatment.

The driver of the truck was unharmed and the N12 was closed for some time pending the removal and cleaning of the broken glass and other debris.

While we at it...ask the cyclist to get off the N12...not safe and they do not belong there.

I believe you are confusing national roads with highways. National roads are often highways, but not always. The N12 south east of Soweto is not highway.

Yes, it is against the law to cycle on a highway. It is perfectly legal to cycle on national road that is not highway.

Why can they not ride there?
