Northern Farm - open 26th Dec to 6th Jan . . .

Was at the Farm this weekend - looks like they will be open from Boxing day right through to the 6th Jan :-)

Anyone fancy an early morning ride? 40km or so at around 20km/h?

I generally make up my own route although they have several new routes marked out now.

I wouldn't like to say. This was my first weekend in months. Not sure about recent history.

That's one of the reasons I posted on here - I'd rather not ride alone :-)

I'm gonna ride at 7am on Thurs 26th and again early on Sat and Sun (assumng it isn't raining).

Friday night is the Critical Mass ride.

I would imagine the farm will be averagely busy - so no problem there.

However I also would like to ride next week during the week - and that's when it might be a bit quiet and I'll be looking for company. Any day except New Years day - when it's predicted that I will be a little bit under the weather :-)

Speed and length of ride can depend on who wants to do what but I won't be ultra fast whatever the case.

Is NF ok to go it alone during the week as I assume it will be quiter then. Especially as a female?

I would say yes. I mostly ride there alone, because it's where I ride when my normal riding buddies can't make the ride. But to be 100% (or should I make that 99%!) safe I would possibly avoid the lower river section and the far north west bit, but having said that, I have not heard of any problems occuring there recently.

But if you're interested, I will be riding there a couple of times over the next week to 10 days if you want to link up. I ride 40kms at 16kms average.

As Bonus says, it will mostly have a few other riders out there, but don't bank on that, I have been on rides when I've seen nobody!

I've seen almost nobody when the car park is full! How does that work? lol

26th at 7am will be a comfortable speed ride. I'm trying to get some Critical Mass riders who don't normally get the chance to go "off road" to come along . . .

Of course if comfortable speed is too slow for you, try doing every climb twice . . . :-)

One man's comfortable speed is another unfit noob's OMG. :)

I'll go through for an amble and check out the terrain though.

I have a list of places I want to check out.

I have also often seen the carpark full and nearly no one on the ride! I have no idea how that works....

On 27th I'm either going to ride Spruit or N Farm and then definitely N Farm on Sunday 28th, so maybe will connect on Thursday. How many kms do you ride?
