Garmin Edge 500

I got one for Xmass. Problem is that when I plug the unit in to my computer it does not pick it up. Is my software outdated or should I rather download n driver from the internet. Thanx

You also need to install the garmin communicator plugin, from the Garmin website.

Does it not pick up at all? Try another usb port, make sure your usb drivers are up to date.

Does it not pick up inside certain programs eg fittrack, sporttrack? Make sure you downdloaded garmin communicator plugin and it is active

Without the plug-in the device should still be visible - per above check device drivers.

Plug the unit in to your pc with USB.

 

Do a soft reset while plugged in, this will reload the "external device" driver

Make sure you use the USB cable that came with the 500.

 

Not sure why but my 500 only works with the Garmin cable supplied and no other.

Maybe I should update my USB drivers first. Doesn't matter to which USB port I plug it into it just pick up the printer

Im also fed-up with my Bryton. Doesnt pick up my HRM Belt anymore, even though i did replace the battery.
