Can anybody help with best way to get to the top of the gravity run in this vid, the map dosn't really show this very well, ended up doing the downhill marked on the map, which is trashed, and the marked enduro which is good.

But didn't have time to get to the trail in the video, its a shame because the guys do such a rad job building the trails but nobody at the park really maps and promotes them

Hi Hubbers. I am going to PMB/Durban in two weeks time. Will have to work during the day but was hoping to get some riding done. We are staying at Kloof (close to Krantzkloof NR) and thought I will be able to go to Giba, but now see that they close at 5, but members have 24hour access. Does anybody know where I can get some riding done in the afternoons, or can I ride at Giba after 5? Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks

Hey karin

I don't think you will have a problem, last trip back I did night rides on a monday, wednsdays and friday night with no issues and I haven't been a member for a few years now.there is official night rides on wednsday night though and groups of various levels of experience leave at about 6pm I think.also buy one get one free burger or pasta at the restaurant there that night...I have a friend in durban who rides most wednsday nights,PM me if you'd like his contact details.

You do the blue route up the switchbacks once you get to the quarry get out onto the tar road and turn right up the hill, about 3/4 of the way up the hill you will see the pylons on the right, at the moment its really well marked out for the upcoming enduro, Its an absolutely awesome track the Nigel and the guys have done an amazing job here!

Hey Karin

Do take some time to come up to Pmb... Cascades is free and we do a lot of night riding there seeing that it is about 4km from home. Giba is undoubtably awesome, but the trails we have here is well worth coming up for. Howick and Karkloof being some of the best and most fun trails you will ride and catering for every type of rider. Cascades can be quite scary if you dont know the forest, so do a day ride and mark a trail you would be comfortable doing at night. Howick and Karkloof aren't on the cards for night rides though, even if you are a member, like I am. Feel free to message if you have any questions regarding the above trails as i know them quite well

Hi G. Thanks for the heads up. I have done rides at Karkloof and it was fantastic. I will have to work during the day, so it doesn't allow for much time in the afternoon. However, I am driving through on Sunday maybe I will stop off at Cascades and then do Giba during the week (join the night ride if possible). We will be off diving at Aliwal Shoal from the Friday to Sunday but if the weather is sh@tty, maybe I can get another ride in. Will give you a shout if I need assistance. Thanks again. K

If you are going to Aliwal (umkomaas). there is a bike route from Rocky Bay (just past scottburgh). it's a really nice ride.. nothing hectic. . But really enjoyable. Something like R20 entry it takes youn through sugarcane then through really nice singletrack and some good technical bits..
