Possibly mentioned somewhere in the thread but for once im too lazy to read through it all

What are the Giant dropper posts like? As most of you know im a self confessed cheapskate and for the amount of riding I do I cant justify an expensive dropper post. Doesn't mean I don't want to need one :whistling:

There's a KS Supernatural 31.6 150mm drop for R2000 in the classifieds.

If I wasn't broke, I would take it

If the advertiser would just answer PM's, emails or respond to comments

Where do you guys ride that you need a dropper post?

I can understand on a DH bike doing DH tracks but on a XC bike or a hardtail why? I have not seen any cross country trails that require the seat to be dropped.

Must be this golf thing, but then that is just me. if it works for you go for it.

Jonkershoek comes to mind as well as G-Spot.

I got one for my b-day, but have not been able to try it properly yet as I am recovering from a calf tear and can only cycle on the flat.

It is really handy when putting a bike in the car though, no longer have to remove my saddle.

Yes also looking into buying one but I am currently torn between the KS Supernatural and the Rockshox Reverb, anyone care to advise on past experience with using either one of them please?

Yeah, I have to admit that the only time I've considered thinking about a dropper has been on some bits of the Double Black run, as well as a short but on DH2. Could be useful there...

As well as the entire contermanskloof and Durbanville trails...

Myself and Porqui are both using the Giant post. Very happy with it. Just keep the cables housings clean and dry like any derailleur.

For the money you can't go wrong, and the new version can be made to route internally.

Hmmm, the A-line yes, most of the rest is rideable without one I reckon.

Droppers really make you more nimble in normal twisty singletrack where you have to flick between trees or tight bends, not just for the white-knuckled stuff. So if you have it you really tend to use it more and more.
