To the two Tannies (meant with all the respect in the world), the one on a Momsen HT and Knobblies and the other on a S-works DS who's front carbon rim got melted buy her vehicles exhaust on the way to the race but still rode the race with a wobbly wheel and all. Big repect. If you two ladies are on the hub please let me know your names as i would like to remember who it was that made me eat humble pie.

I was in VB, our group split badly after one of the guys crashed around a corner - does any one know who that was and if he's ok, as he was gripping his shoulder and I think it might have been his collarbone.

Did a 2:44 - had a puncher and did the last 40km like Celine Dion - all by my self...

Condolence to the family that was in that accident on the highway.

Was riding next to you when your tyre blew, I was in Qhubeka kit. Looked like a shining Bianchi that went down early on. Hope he is ok.

We rode together....the last bit anyway....and yes, got properly the moer in with her

I was in joberg2c jersey

BL was great except for all the breaking and speeding up, think i got dropped and 60km...can't be sure...was somewhere around there...chased for a little bit... finally ended... with a 2:48 happy with my first sub 3.. all the marshals were great and the organisation at the start and finish.. were fantastic.... thanks to Cycle Nation for the great pictures of the event... looking forward to Serengeti next week :) or should I say this weekend!

Anybody in the AL group know what that guy was who broke away in the last 6 km, he went like a bullet, there was still about 60 peeps in our group and no one bothered to chase..

That was a respectable attack.

Seems like most of the groups that got away was helped by the accidents

Man I was upset about that and we had such a nice little group going. How strong was that guy with the one leg? I was very impress with him.

Did that idiot with the black and blue giant carbon eventually help in the front as he was hiding all the way.

Haha I just thought of this it was my second time riding in your group (94 and fast one) and both times I just couldn't finish with you, maybe third time lucky.

I think this had to do with the eagerness of the u16 guys who raced from km 1. and the fact that there were about 30 AL guys that started with us.

Group saved the day, only split up in final 2 km. See you at the next one!

Actually not. The U16 hardly did any of the pacing but they did sit within the first 20 riders on the front.

this speeding around the corners is bad. I see it every time I ride with the Engen to Engen guys and it seems to have now moved to the races two, almost every single corner in the AL group it happened.

Fast One was my first race of the season and how hard was that. Started in VB and it was so hard from about 10min into the race to the end. Ended up doing 2:23, but what a way to start the year.

The Europecar u16 did make a break at one stage and a CycleLab u16 did try and chase them down later on. The pace did pick up and the Europecar boys were chased down just before the finish but I must add that there were quite a few AL,VA & VB riders that did some of the chasing. I recon the U16 should be left to ride their own race as they are in their own category and on different gearing as well. But boy, some of them sure are strong. Pity about the fall at the finish.
