So am I going to be the only one riding the dirtopia enduro blind?

Nope. I don't think a lot of the "regulars" ride there often... And last time we rode a few of the normal trails backwards.

Don't worry though. If Capricorn goes it'll only be the 2nd time he's ridden it in the last year and a bit!

Last time there was an enduro there it was won by an xc rider on a 120mm xc bike....hope you guys have your 2.1 tyres and lycra ready.

jeez dude, stop ripping the other races off. not cool!

some really good single tracks with my mates and have a ball.

that is subjective, just because you didn't like it, doesn't mean that I won't. I had a ball of a time at all their events. just because you don't think it is #enduro enough, doesn't mean it is crap.

lastly, if organisers have no respect for my time, and think it is fine to start an event 45mins late, I lose respect for their organizational skills. I really hope WPDH gets it right at their 3rd event. The thinking behind the trails sounds bang on target, now to get the leg work done properly.

Actually you have to look at it from another angle. Its not their races that I have a problem with or the tracks or the venues or that is not enduro enough. That can all be changed.

Its much deeper. Yes they start on time or at the latest 5 min late and cancel 2 stages of a 5 stage enduro so not so bad. That aside, the difference to me is whats behind it all.

On the one side you have a company, people to make money off others and give them back as little as possible. They take home a nice pay check at the end of the month.

On the other side you have 3 or 4 people working there asses off to grow a sport with no budget, putting their heart and soul into trying to make it bigger and better. They do it for the love of the sport, not a pay check at the end of the month, not a thank you, or a name, nothing. They give more to the sport than people know, their own time, their own money, their own race runs. And then if things run a bit late everyone is up in arms? They are not doing it because this is the new golf...this is enduro.

Sometimes you have to think of which way things will go in a few years time. And then who to back and where to put your money.

I'm sorry I couldn't make this one. I had a Mothers Day thing on.

But the guys behind these event really try hard. For FREE! to put these events on for the riders. On the day of the event they are running around like mad things trying to make sure everyone is happy. They don't get to ride the track cos they're working.

It sucks to get kicked in the nuts when you've put so much effort in.

I'm sorry, what the actual f#%€????

So Meurant and Arina Botha are just moneygrubbing holes that do nil for mountainbiking (you realise gravity riders aren't the only people who ride bikes)? You must be kidding.

I don't care if WP donit for the love. I pay R300 to ride their events. It's not free for me. So I get to be pissed when they make me wait an hour on a mountain in the cold an then tell me it's #enduro.

I'll always support those dirty corporate scoundrels at Dirtopia because they were around before all this ego bullcrap and at least at their events I don't feel like I'm back at highschool with a Strava penis contest.

So so so much ego these days. Grow up. The cool kids died with McCaully Culkin's waistline.

I don't think it's unfair to complain even when there's no profit involved. As I said, it's not free for me so I am entitled to a legitimate expectation of some measure of professionalism.

The trails at WP are sick. Really awesome. But there are organisational wrinkles that need ironing asap.
