Does this mean that Modderfontein MTB may be done away with?

THE sale of the Heartland property by chemicals and explosives company AECI to Chinese property developer Shanghai Zendai has been approved by the Competition Commission, but with a condition

Saw this on Business Day website, my understanding is that this is on the same land that the MTB park is currently on? Sad that MTB riders will have to make way for more retail (consumption) development.

Dont we have enough chinese crap in this country?

theres an abundance of China Malls, to chinese cars GWM, Geely and then to towns like Chinavale (Edenvale)

We wont have any green areas left soon

Rather pleased I did not buy in Greenstone

I'd have it over the aircraft noise of Glen Erasmia any day.

North or South Krans?

BTW to the OP, as was mentioned by someone here, the original deal excluded the Nature Reserve, so don't go beating up the nearest Sushi Chef just yet...

I work in Spartan and hate morning and evening traffic.Takes me 10 min to work

That Modderfontein road is a killer.Looking at Lakefield in Benoni.Seems not too far

I dont care about the tolls

This eventual development is going to be interesting. With the planned Gautrian stop at Modderfontein, the new developments with commercial and residential will either boost the Greenstone area dramatically or drop it in the same fashion.

Hate to disillusion you but the conservancy which is to remain is a fraction of what we ride at present - you can get a feel for the eventual size if you study the newly erected fences - I fear there wont even be enough land for a 15km route
