I've never heard of anyone else doing this.

When I train, I inflate my mountain bike tires with less pressure that when it's race day. My argument is that when the tire has less pressure, you have to ride a bit harder, suffer a bit more and get more exercise. Then when it's race day, the tires is nice and hard and then the riding is much easier and way more fun.

Am I being totally stupid or are there some logic behind this???

there was some study done that the opposite is true. Softer tyres roll easier (off-road only). Can't be bothered to look for it now.

Rather carry a backpack with some bricks in it for training. The weight wil make you stronger.

Bricks on your back??? That is a bit pushing it, rather tie it to the frame or something?

No...don't see the point.

I get used to a certain tyre's grip at a certain pressure. Buggering around with this will make me over compensate. Add weight if you want to train this way rather
