NeoOne Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 Thanks JP Prinsloo and the organisers for a job well done. Had a great ride. Any Hubbers doing early morning rides in and around Blairgowrie/Randburg?
Twombles Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 I was riding in Cresta Wheelers kit (white, with pink and yellow stripes, Linden Cycles on the back). Black BMC. Saw someone with a white atomic shirt, and a beard. Is that you? Jip, that's me. I saw the Cresta Wheelers kit a couple of times. I guess that was you. Bad luck with the mechanical, you better do something about that mechanic...
J.p. Prinsloo Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 Its a pleasure finally getting to know some of the cyclists we marshal with. To every Road Ranger its a privilege and commitment to be involved in keeping every cyclist save on the roads, whether it be on a Training Ride, or a Timed Event, Cyclist Safety is always our number one concern. Underachiever and TALUS 2
Underachiever Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 Its a pleasure finally getting to know some of the cyclists we marshal with. To every Road Ranger its a privilege and commitment to be involved in keeping every cyclist save on the roads, whether it be on a Training Ride, or a Timed Event, Cyclist Safety is always our number one concern. The privilege is really ours JP. Your genuine concern for a sport you don't even participate in, and giving up your private time for, is actually priceless!! TALUS 1
Cheese Posted April 7, 2014 Author Posted April 7, 2014 what bike and kit did you wear? i assume you were part of the 8 man group that formed just after hekpoort descent to catch the A group again. I was in the northcliff kit, with the green evad. Just to say underachiever came in at 4th if I remember correctly. So that is at least 3 hubbers in top 10 White and Black with some Orange Cycleworld Kit. Jip worked together after being dropped on Hekpoort. Had a loose spoke so was carefull going down there.
Captain Slow Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 (edited) Six13 and others. I received the call about the lady having an asthma attack. I was with the Elite riders and as I was closest (reports was that she was 7km's from the Finish) left the bunch and rushed to the area. On route, another Medic/Marshal also joined the search. We could not find the lady and only assumed she managed to continue and complete the race, and thankful it was not serious. Will relay the concern about the operator not knowing about the race with my Managers. Edited April 7, 2014 by Captain Slow

The problem is that the nature of electronic communication is that it is immediate. I registered and now I am waiting for acceptance to the site (+/- 12h). The moment is lost quickly before ones attention shifts to the next subject.
J.p. Prinsloo Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 Unfortunately as with all forums, new accounts need to be screened carefully, especially on open board forums where anyone can register (when it was closed board it was much more manageable, if you didn't know the person, account denied)Please bear with us as we make the transition slowpoke, Captain Slow and TALUS 3
TALUS Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 Still have not been accepted. Eish. Maybe you should just start a thread here?
