It would be great to know who the marshalls with each group is/ was. Maybe publish it or wear your name somewhere. I like to chat with the marshall afterwards to show appreciation. When the guys are away from their bikes - it can be difficult to know who is who. I found our (B) marshall easy enough today though... :)

I'll mention it next time I chat to our "powers that be" :-)

Congrats on finishing dude. You guys at the back are just as important to us as the guys up front :-) It would have been Mzee or Oom Johan with you right at the back

I was in group B, back end but before group C

hats off to so many guys and ladies out there for performing like pro's. I rode C barely survived to the 70 km Mark. Got scooped up by some late A and B guys and we flew making up time... but alas, the cramping at the 90km mark forced me to struggle the last hour limping to the line. It was a great day for me,rode with lots of fun guys ... To the the misserable people: Its supposed to be fun (Gee wizz) !!! Final time of 3h37

You cant hold a peak 365 days a year

Hahahaha. Yes I wondering if he might be on a downward trajectory if he got beat in a straight shootout.

I think his got the commonwealth games or some big event coming up so not good for him if it's the case.

Ah, ivr32, then it would've been someone else, not sure who took the B's

B was won in true Rui Costa style. The "winner" never felt the wind in his face for 113.5km until we hit the track. Well played I suppose... Edited by TALUS

I think I was part of the run back to AL. I was on the white Giant T-mobile with black and orange kit.

Fell off the group at the right turn in Magalies at bout 52km. never caught the group again. I was definitely not in A group shape today

cant remember the bike but do remember the kit.

Its a shame we probably caught them 4 km after that. And they always say once ur dropped its over. Some determined guys changed that today.

I must say i am broken now 160 km in the saddle, strava suffer score of almost 300

Early night for me

Hey Blitzer, sorry that I missed you today.

Twombles and TALUS, I think I rode the last 50km with you guys. Well, almost. I had to stop at 103km to fix a mechanical issue on my bike (due to my own poor workmanship. )

TALUS: Do you ride for Jacaranda? If yes, I have a question. Why do you guys ride with cable ties sticking up from your helmets?

Yes. It is an idea of the road captain. Easy to spot each other in a big group and a paceline. Pity you didnt know and greet. I could have thanked you for your videos. We are all three ou ballies - I am on the Scott RC Yellow / Black.

We stopped to try help a girl having an asthma attack. Her friend called ER24 number and they didn't even know about the race. Unbelievable given that there were many of their emergency cars around. Luckily she managed to regulate her breathing and got going again. Pretty poor given how good all the marshaling was on the day! I think there needs to be a number that you can call for help and they should be able to contact the people on the ground supporting the event.
