DPG Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 In light of the post regarding bike jacking in Sunset Beach I am now thinking of investing in a pepper spray. Would welcome any suggestions on which spray to get and where they are available. Vetseun 1

kosmonooit Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Jet spray better option, the mist can blow back at you, and one molecule in your eyes is a bit unpleasant to say the least. There is a debate over mounting to your bike or yourself. I ride with a small cannister on clipped into the side strap of my back pack, the thinking is one can use it still if you get separated from your bike. But just don't fit & forget, you have to practice using it.

Sepia Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Also have a largish one with velcro on the bike and a smaller one on elastic velcro around my arm. Get the stream and not mist. I tried the mist whilst riding and it is a def no go! Stream allows you to use it while still on the bike - not at a fast speed though! Just at the ready in case of something looming ahead. I also think if you grab something the perps "may" not try anything - my false security. Active Monkey 1

Vetseun Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 SWAT works. My wife used it on a BLACK guy that attacked her while she was running. Bastard tried to pull her into bushes. She sprayed him like a fly. Needless to say, his tottie wasnt bothering him thereafter. When I got there he was squeeling like a pig. He unfortunately made a comment about making an assault charge against my wife for spraying him. So I gave him a legitimate reason to go and make an assault charge. JCA12 Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Swat is the best I've seen. I've been in a situation when someone used it on a crowd fight. I got a whiff of it. Had me coughing like mad. Really rough stuff. Got it from yale security
