Start on smaller jumps and work your way up, preferably riding with some one experienced who can give you some tips.

Takes a while to get used to being in the air, not something you want to just hit a big one at speed and hope it all comes right, unless you don't mind nice big scabs and broken bones, wheels, frames , bars etc. And ride with decent protective gear...

Don't do it alone.....practice on smaller more manageable ones but plan to have mates with you when you want to hit the big ones...they will come in handy if you plonk it and damage yourself! And as Skylark said, wear the right gear, no matter how dorky you may look.

And make sure the landing is big, WIDE, well thought out and smooth. You can still jump a sketchy take off, but a sketchy landing is asking for moeilikheid. Also helps alot if you have bigger target and knowing.

Is NotSoBigBen your dad? This will determine if we give advice or not. Don't want your dad to moer me at Thaba on Saturday.

I'm in the same boat. Can hit some smaller jumps on the Morewood but the M9 is a whole different animal to jump.

Where can we find big, safe table tops to jump?

As ek al my Gear het sal ek by PWC bikepark gaan oefen hulle het mos die BMX track en en dirt jump wat nie lyk of hy jou eerste slag sal doodmaak nie...
