Probably better to have chatted to Joanne before venting on here. If, as you say, you've received great service from them for the last decade and you've had one bad experience then it seems a bit unfair that you've ranted on here once and haven't posted any praise for them before (I assume). I've frequently stopped in there with a small problem and just been handed a part, free of charge. Most of the staff there know what they're talking about but you're occasionally going to encounter an inexperienced assistant who's still got a lot to learn. In that instance, just ask for someone more knowledgable.

utter nonsense - who are you to dictate how someone should respond to cr@p service? MEthinks your post is less than partial, and that you have been bought off by LC - shame on you

Geez, the trolls are getting obvious these days. Whatever happened to subtlety? The long game? Now you guys just start a profile and immediately start a wheel size thread or have a go at someone straight off the bat.

If I need help from Linden Cycles I try not go there on a Saturday because that place is like free doghnuts at a police station. It is a little inconvenient to go during the week, but then I know they are more manageable and have always been quick to help me, including Joneen even when juggling a call in the other hand.

They have always gone above and beyond in my experience, which is becoming more and more rare these days.

Agreed!

I worked there in my (much) younger days and Saturdays were crazy - the shop was so busy that just the mass of people made it a stressful place to be. We used to run our arses off and still not cope with the demand.

If you can make it then weekdays are a much better option - personal service in a friendly and knowledgeable environment - proper old school style.

To this day Linden is in my top 3 bikes shops.

So lets understand why you say it's crap service...

1 - You don't make an appointment

2 - You want them to stop helping paying customers that did make appointments to help you

3 - You are happy to "borrow" their tools and premises to do your work

4 - You pitch on the busiest sales day of the week and expect a 'non standard' fairly low value service

5 - Your are unhappy that the sales guy asked you to come back when they can attend to it in the manner they would like to manage it...

6 - Then you create a public spat, for which you get some disagreement with and

7 You behave contrary to the rules of the board around resolving these issues directly before bringing them to the board.

Strangely - I am NOT on your side with this...

I think a public apology from you to Linden Cycles is called for.
