The price one has to pay to demo a bike these days eh Hairy? :whistling:

Looks like a good all round bike. What size were the rotors? with 180/160 SLX brakes are mad strong - with 203/180 you hardly need to pull them...Basically no difference to XT.

The price is steep .... steep if you really enjoy the demo bike :)

RE the brakes, 180mm front and 160mm rear

Update

I will be a Slider back again to ride, this time though the Slider will be set up with a 150mm Mattocc fitted ... so rather excited to be getting the bike for a week again.

Pics will follow when I get the bike and an update on how the 150mm fork works with the Slider

Im looking at trail bikes at the moment, this one falls into the same price bracket as the trance 27.5, if i can ask what your views on the two compared?

Strictly speaking the Slider has 5mm shorter stays and a shorter wheelbase overall. Should turn quicker.

Also, the new Trance has lost a lot of what made it pedal great which is called anti-squat. The Slider according to the numbers has ample anti-squat and therefore responds with gusto when called to action under pedalling.

Part for part, well you be the judge. Hairy has spoken.

Strictly speaking I have not ridden the trance yet so can not give a honest opinion.

@Hairy, next time I have the pleasure of riding with you, you're welcome to give mine a spin.

I saw the bike the Hairy one rode, being handed over to a bike magazine for testing, look out for a review in a not so distant Tread edition...
