Was a cool vibe, and pretty slick organising... local teams apart from MTN look a little off the pace. Racing will be between Rapha, MTN, Radu, Skoda, Airgas and Nippo I reckon.

Dont discount bonitas, they've got dylan Girdlestone there.

If johan rabie is there, he's also one to mention.

How much climbing is there between now and Saturdays Criterium finish? Here's hoping Louis Meintjies can put in some good attacks!

As far as I have it there is quite a lot of climbing and MTN has four climbers out of 6 in there team. They will be able to strategise around this as the other teams will have to keep an eye on all the climbers.

I don't think Bonitas will be strong enough as a team to carry one of their riders to a GC victory.

Individual stage victories could definitely be on the cards for them though.

Sounds good to me... COME ON Louis and the boys in yellow black with a touch of yellow.

So the fact that Louis Meintjies "favorited" my below tweet means he is feeling confident right?

Good luck to everyone taking part in the @Mzansi_Tour this week. For what its worth, my money in on @LouisMeintjes taking the yellow jersey.

I would say that he would feel confident.

I would geuss that Jauques Janse van rensburg/ or Sergio Pardilla would attack today and be in the break to force Rapha ConDor to chase. That would allow Louis and Kudus to go for GC.

Jip,

I think MTN now has all the cards. They have a strong climbing team for the day and should be able to control the peleton quite nice. Jaques would probably be able to keep the jersey but if not Kudus will be there to take over.

Looking forward to it.

Edit: I've ridden this stage before, although we started in Bethlehem not Clarens. I feel for the non-climbers today.

Going to be some lekker fireworks at the end there... If Jacques has another good day here, the tour should probably be his.

Nothing like a mountain top finish... Will Louis Meintjies be given free reigns to attack or will he have to support his team mate in yellow?

By the way, I find it sad how a thread regarding fake bikes gets about a hundred times more traffic than a thread on the biggest pro bicycle race in the country.

I guess humans are just wired to love sensationalism... hence the negative rubbish on the front page of newspapers,

Back on topic though, I am really glad to see the growth of the Mzansi Tour since last year!

Its a great stage!! this will bring bigger teams to SA, this is the only way.

Mzansi is really a great tour to follow. Even on twitter the racing was "real" - just that feeling you get.
