I think it would be a room designed around less riding in order to allow for more riding ..... that would be the practical room.

Now that is not what you were exactly asking.

problems he might face with a regular bedroom:

  • getting out of bed, getting dressed and out the room without waking his better half on his way out for a morning ride
  • an alarm that wakes him only and not his better half on his way out for a morning ride

Think along the lines of what would make his life easier and not just bike bling ..... a bedroom is a place to recharge.

I gave Jens 3 colours to choose from and he chose red, yellow/orange and light blue. It took him a while to pick the colours cause there were to many to choose from! hahahaha

...and a gadget to lure the dogs around the corner, so they won't hump your leg at 04:00 in the morning from excitement...

these poor (Ok not poor, but you know what I mean) are on the road alot and staying in rent a beds, so when they are home I would imagine that having the space feel personal and intimate would be key.

If you insist on cycling memorabilia in the room, consider more intimate imagery .... think him hugging his wife at a finish line, more moody and abstract pics vs a sweaty rider with a snot splattered face grimacing on a hellishly steep climb in the middle of nowhere.

Would you like to be reminded of the office when you get into bed every night?

I would rather go for something completely unrelated to cycling (based on relaxation etc.)

something like this, with a nice reading nook
