Rooiberg has a couple secrets and for those in the know who have ridden there before know that mountain bike trails have been built here from the ground up, providing a real adventurous escape into the bushveld. The venue is spread over more than 12 500 ha and malaria free, unspoilt bushveld, Elandsberg Nature Reserve nestles in the shadow of the majestic Waterberg Mountains. Francois Pienaar Posted April 16, 2014 Share Pity about the date. I did this ride last year and got destroyed on the 75km. Was keen to get back to it and smoke it. Also, don't look at the 2hr drive, rather make a weekend out of it re: Mabula / nearby. It's such a lovely area, with crazy riding and amazing bush lodges to chill before and after. WesselvdWalt Posted April 16, 2014 Share Hey guys... it's not new on the calendar... the dates have been out since end of last year for the series. I know it's disappointing as you would love to do both events! We didn't choose to be on the same weekend as monster, it's the card we were dealt when it comes with the CSA calendar etc. We have already submitted our calendar for 2015...! Ride4Life Posted April 24, 2014 Share Monster is cool. Only problem is you drive there you race it you drive home. Another race another weekend. So think Rooiberg is a good idea. Weekend away with family and a good decent race on top of that! So if you ask me between race or a weekend away and race then its Rooiberg.If you looked at what they charged for the Emperors race to do a lazy flat 40km then this is still cheap! Bring on Rooiberg! Cut-off at 14h00 (53km into Marathon, 83.6km into Ultra)105km has a cut-off at the finish of 9hoursWill give a update over the weekend, to confirm as there will be a change over last year.
