Can't help but feel sorry for Cadel. Reckon this was his last big show. I can only see him getting creamed in the stages to come

I reckon Cuddles must turn his attention to Classics and the one week tours.

Not to mention having to ride that parcours in sub-zero temperatures, rain, sleet and snow.

Gives a whole new perspective on what rules 5 and 9 really mean.

That was a truly legendary GT stage. Only the Giro will give you that kind of environment to duke it out, those hardened fans, the drama, the individual struggles.

Quintana showed what a real talent he is today. Hope Cuddles can keep 3rd, Uran must be bleak.

Indication of danger or neutralization?

I'd reckon neutralization

Danger don't need to spelt out to riders as they are professionals and know what's required.

Dunno what the rule book say though - have never seen that before.

"In the final, I started cramping...was limping on one leg all the way home. It is a pity. Normally I am reasonably good in these extreme conditions. But when I can't see the road, I can't descend down it. When I have to pedal with one leg, I can't go uphill. So it was really a day of conservation and survival."
