In this day and age, when a rider 'suddenly' makes a breakout performance, especially in a grand tour, questions tend to soon follow. Ulissi's TT performance has left an ex pro like Dan Lloyd "almost speechless". This follows his 2 stage wins. I'm a new fan of his, don't get me wrong.

That's a massive time for Ulissi. A full 50 seconds faster than De Gendt who is no slouch when it comes to racing against the clock.

Has anyone seen Quintana's offset seatpost? Offset forwards, so that he's sitting over the top tube. Seriously aggressive position.

As we hear that Quintana is around 50 seconds down at the second time check.

He is suffering

Hesjedal is coming to the line. He won't trouble the top ten today and in the end the former Giro winner takes 12th. He'll probably hold a position inside the top 15.

And Uran is second at the first time check, 15 seconds down on Pozzovivo.

I reckon Uran will make some time on the flats

Believe it or not there are UCI rules concerning this!

The point of the saddle shall be a minimum of 5cm (see article 1.3.019 below) to the rear of a vertical plane passing through the lower bracket spindle. The saddle support shall be horizontal (see figure 1). The length of the saddle shall be 24 cm minimum and 27.5 cm maximum.

I wonder if anyone ever really checks this.

Pozzovivo is so short he uses a stock road frame for time trials because Focus don't make a TT frame small enough
