not sure on seat droppers. i know they useful but when i see the cost my wallet drops.

shall i buy the giant dropper for 2500 or spend the extra 500 and get a trusted dropper like the reverb.

im not about having the best but i am about being practical.

does anyone use the giant or should i just not drink beer this month and get the reverb?

Does the Giant post cost that much? I was under the impression more like R1500

X-fusion also has I nice option, the one thing that I like is the remote, it has a lever that can be pushed towards any angle and is less likely to break in a event of crash

I have a X-Fusion and a Reverb, both are great but the latter is smoother, the hydraulic system is better than a cable, the X-Fusion I use the lever under the saddle.

You pay for what you get with these devices, a lot of engineering goes into them.

I have a reverb - it's great. My only concern is that because of the geometry of my frame and my choice of cable routing, the cable tends to bend at an awkward angle at the coupling when I drop the seat... but so far it hasn't failed.

As luck would have it, CRC has them on special today - free shipping to SA:

Cheers

Mind the SARS sting in the tail though, there's no such thing as a free lunch :whistling:

Check out the Specialized Command post which is available in various sizes and uses a standard gear cable for ease of maintenance and durability. I prefer it to the Reverb because it doesn't need to be bled and it pops up faster.

Have been using a giant dropper for close on a year now, and it has been ok, though not totally maintenence free. Replaced the cable twice and put a new bolt on the seat clamp.

Paid R1700 for it.

It has only 100mm of drop which is fine for me, but does not suit everyone.
