Jonkershoek has a nice easy gravel road loop, with a lot of optional climbing and singletracks onto the mountains. The loop is fairly flat.

Never been to Meerendal. Table mountain a lot of climbing.

Tokai also a lot of climbing and technical.

Depends on family's level of fitness / skills (and age of kids).

Meerendal is very family friendly, contermanskloof has a nice 8km loop, Oak Valley if kids aren't too young. Koeberg for any age.

Bottelary hills has a nice yellow loop starting and ending at Radish. Never done the yellow myself but it sounds fam friendly.

The easy route at Bottelary Hills is the ORANGE loop, starting from Radish Restaurant - 12 kms and about 190 meters of climbing . The yellow loop is also not too difficult, but you face a serious climb to get to it if you start from Radish, and then to get back to Radish again. Full details re the different route options can be found on http://bottelaryhillsmtb.co.za/

Family = koeberg

Unless all members of the family have 150mm of travel of course

Depends on who is in the family.

I for one love tokai ST and climbing up to the mast , however I enjoy koeberg just as much for a lekker relaxing cruise and even better if I get to see table mountain and ride amongst zebras.
