What other benefits are there besides the weight gain if one had to fit a carbon seat post?

On a hardtail, 1) a bit of ''give" or Flex 2) slight vibration dampening. On a dual I have found it not needed at all besides weight gain

"Feel" and vibration dampening: Very subjective.

Not many...but you get to sit with your riding buddy while the Dr's take carbon splinters out.

 

Seen a few carbon posts break in the last while.

Thanks guys. Busy upgrading my handlebars on my 29er dual and was wondering if it was worthwhile to do the seat post at the same time.

90% of the cheaper/budget carbon components is carbon wrapped aluminium so not really worth it.
