We should know the route tomorrow, my money is on going up blixem :whistling:

Yea then vulture is out....also don't think they will incl vulture...its not really geared for the amount of entries.

Plus we all know jou blixem is where the race is won or lost....if you go into jou blixem in front, you will probably win it....not alot of passing opportunities on the river...if any. Go check sean badenhorst's ride on strava yesterday....he does vulture...it will give you an idea of what it is.

I have a feeling they will do the stock standard race route to the concrete slabs...down the other side by tant miems.... and then at the t-junction will take you left again and then right to the satellite climb....probably take you out a bit further, down the mountain again joining the road to hekpoort....right..then left into oom piets....then church with jou blixem...and river to end....

Agnee. I thought I was done with this notorious sections. Now you guys are dropping names that sound pretty much like I need to bring a bullet proof vest with.

Then all my effort will go into technical riding this weekend combined with some distance.

No, its not that bad promise....they are notorious for the right reason....they are super fun. Except jou blixem, but its 1km long and right at the end....

Concrete slabs...fun, don't burn matches here...save them

Tant miems / daggapad....super super super fun..flowing singletrack through awesome indigenous forest

Satellite climb and descent....also fun but gnarly

Oom piets....super fun...fast rutted down

Greek church....super fun....longish climb...but not steep

Jou blixem...ok this is going to suck...I am not going to bull**** you

River to home....crown jewel of fun at VG

You are going to love life I promise

ja the satellite station section is the toughest technically, hope I can ride that descent this time I just need a lead out man (or women), too poep scared after body planting on those rocks a few times already.

Dropper seat post should be handy, and Hope x4 brakes.

It is only by pure luck I got to go next weekend. This weekend it is me and Groenkloof and Klapperkop unfortunately no propper recovery as I am having a party afterwards. The wifes due date is the 20th so +- the next month except for the race it is Groenkloof as I stay right next to it.

You people are scaring me! My bike is bagged, ready to fly to Jozi on Sunday. Never done 75km before but I can beat a few boys on the technical downhill stuff so lets see!

Get the bike out of the bag and go ride on Saturday. I did my first Marathon in the Magalies a wef weeks ago and was pissed at myself for not riding enough before the time.
