So while cleaning my bike on Sunday I noticed a little flaw had developed on my front tyre, and realised it was finally time to change it.

This tyre has served me well...very well...It has safely and successfully guided me through multiple miles of dust/mud/rocks in the the karkloof/hilton/cascades trails. It has guided me down the umkomaas valley not once, but three times..this year being my fasted descent ever....just completed its third sani2c on Saturday and managed an astounding 6300km (give or take a few km's) I only have praise for these tyres

as a matter of interest..Works out to about 6c per km.....now that's good value for money that my irish blood can understand!

My original Spez tyres have around 5000kms on them. Might be a bit more - the bike had around 5500 before I changed the groupset. Not sure of exact tyre kms only cos I did switch in Fastrak tyres to ride Argus and kept one on as back tyre and switched the original back tyre to the front. They will prob still last me through winter and Rhino training.

My Geax have around 2500km and Maxxis Crossmarks 3000km, both still looking good.

Quite surprised with the Geax, it appears soft and reports iv'e read claim its not long lasting particularly when riding tar.

Just make a small hole in it, sealant will fill and block.

Thats some good milage. What tyres are they?

thats a good idea...might just do that...although the tread in the middle is getting a bit thin now

They are Onza's... ibex xc in the front and a canis on the back

Mine did exactly the same. Except this weekend it finally popped after developing a marshmallow sized bubble. Mine had about 2500km on which is a shame because the tread is still good...

All the tires that I have had:

Kenda Small Block 8 wire bead, not too sure how long they lasted, maybe 1000km until I damaged the bead on one tire because of pressure that was too low (with a tube nogal).

Bontrager XR2 Team lasted just under 2000km,

Specialized Ground Control (finally running tubeless), almost 900km and stil very good, hope these will go past 2000km.

When my commuter wheels are ready it will get the good XR2 and SB8 to go for some more tar riding.

I have Schwalbe RR on front (came with bike) - past weekend I saw signs of perishing on the tread...

~2yrs old and <2000km on them...

Not overly impressed as there is still lots of tread left...

Hi guys,

You all are getting some serious distances on your tyres. Is this all on dirt or is there a bit of tar involved?
