Yes, the winner only gets 32.432 points for yellow but will most likely also be high up in the KOM classification.

Then also the green classification should they be in the front of the group at "high risk" stages.

The most aggressive sounds a lot but it's a 1 in 198 chance of being the right selection. Call it a carrot to dangle as a wild card rider.

Regarding the white jersey, in 2013 there were only 50 riders, and most of them weren't picked by the hubbers, so the scoring in this category will be probably be limited to the top 10 riders - maybe I'm wrong.

All the jersey classifications have the same weighting, but not all will have the same minimum.

Cool.

I also managed position 100+ in previous competitions... Still a lot of fun though

Gerald, thanks for putting this together again... will PM my winning team to you shortly

Regarding the changes in positions, the big difference was for riders that didn't fall within the scoring parameters used in previous years. Usually it was the top 5, top 10 places on each stage, and then the top 3 in the classifications.

Now that every rider scores points, it make some big changes for some (up and down) and some smaller changes for the majority.

The more detail, the more accurate the results but also a bucket load of work to setup.

Hi Gerald

Abit of a stupid question, in the case where a rider is injured and has to drop out - Is that just a tough luck or do we get a replacement pick?

Nevermind I wasn`t reading properly:

Other basic rules

  • There is no limit on which riders you choose;
  • No substitutions allowed - let's hope there aren't any repeats of this year's Giro and the 2010 Tour, with so many crashes.
  • Amendments may be made before the start of the Tour - hopefully all queries will be resolved before July 5th.

When will the final List of Participants be out?

I get the provisional team lists from www.cyclingnews.com - they publish the teams as they're announced, whereas the Tour website is usually only updated at the 11th hour.

There's still a few weeks to go, so no need to worry about it so early. Sometimes the teams only announce their line ups after the northern hemisphere countries complete their national champs (the week prior to the Tour).

Thanks Gerald, I need to put a reminder for myself so that I make my picks, this will be my first attempt.

With this past weekend's racing action at the Criterium Du Dauphine, what are the chances of having an exciting Tour? Contador said he wouldn't let it happen (Talanksy overhaul him for yellow) if this was the Tour. But then he also said that he couldn't mark every move. Froome said he was sore after the fall, and his legs didn't have anything left to give - is he playing psychological games, or could he be hurting, or not yet reaching his peak?

Personally, I'm hoping for the same result which should make things exciting to watch and score.

Speaking of scoring - team line ups will be coming through thick and fast over the next few weeks. As teams confirm their line-ups, I will add it to page 1 of this topic. Cyclingnews.com usually posts all the team details and other news items on their dedicated Tour website link.

With just under 3 weeks to go, there's still plenty time for teams to finalise their line-ups, and for you to pick your fantasy team.

Looking forward! The good ol' Frosty game! :P

My last two teams were dismal. Hopefully this year they pull up their socks!
