The course taping is a strict issue and I think the tape being moved after Kerr's run was either done by a spectator or a marshal without the instruction of the UCI. When I did my course taping - areas where I knew riders would try and cut etc were either triple poled (three poles in close proximity) .. or the pole hole was spraypainted on the ground so that we knew if it was moved. But during finals you cant get up onto the hill to fix poles so it is up to the marshal and their discretion. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Yeah he could protest im sure - but again you are only allowed to protest within i think its 30 minutes of the DSQ being lodged ... Also he would have to have proof that any of the riders after him who did not get DSQ'ed landed outside of where the tape had been prior to it being moved.
