Mugging near Simba hill in Kempton Park

Isando, we have been past there numerous times, next to the highway.

 

My opinion is that whole area is no go.

 

Under the bridge near the railway station on Pretoria Road has been a hijack hot spot.

The dug up road on "simba hill road" near the hotel is a hijack hot spot.

 

Just steer clear I reckon.

Damn, I used to love that route, in the 90's we used to run it often as well from Sunnyridge down towards the roadhouse then next to the railway line past Rolfs up past Simba and then through Barbara road back to Sunnyridge.

It is an olde school loop. We used to gooi echelon down Pretoria Road trying to lose the lighties then they'd get their revenge up the HC category Simba Hill...

Near the hotel. On the northern side of the freeway. Haven't been there for a while and I thought the road might be fixed. I knew it was risky but I figured I would fly down the hill and risk it. Then with the road closed I had to climb back up the bloody hill. Legs dead from SBR on Saturday so I was cruising pretty slowly. I knew I was stuffed when I saw the bloke.

 

Anyway what to do. I don't mind riding with mates but I do most of my riding on my own. I like riding on my own. I will just find a new route I guess.

THERE ARE A LOT OF CYCLIST NOW GOING OT THE OTHER SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY BUT ITS JUST AS ISOLATED, AND THERE IS THAT EXTRA LITTLE CLIMB BY COFFIEHUIS

I'm thinking I don't go down Atlas at all. I head back on that road that heads west from atlas and weaves on the Southern side of the airport. The one where the aircraft just about smack your helmet with their landing gear as they come in to land.

 

I will have to add something to make up the distance though. Perhaps from Carnival head south to Heidelberg then back. What a pain in the butt.

 

Thanks for the good wishes everyone. You really do feel a bit lonely when you are on your own and a bloke rushes at you with a pistol.

I know this is not really interesting to anyone other than myself but the police called today. They are going to send someone around to do an identikit sketch. I got a good look at the guy and remember quite a lot of detail.
