Yip! I find I have to work downhill as well. Don't care much since it is a great workout. I find when I do 2 or 3 sessions a week on the trainer I am relatively stuff on the wknds.

How much truth is in the theory that 45min on a trainer = 1.5h on the road (or something like that)?

HONESTLY my run on saturday was after a loop with IRON i tried to do that race/loop, i got 25km and i was broken ,,,,to me its much harder on the trainer as you dont get to recover, thats my opinion, also maybe im just pushing harder(MORE STALKERS)

OK SO NO EXCUSES THESE WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED

DATA/LOST/RAN OUT

POWER FAILURE........RUN ON GENERATOR JUST IN CASE

IF YOU STOP OR DNF,,,,,,SIMPLE YOU BLEW

Yea the thing with downhills are you will need a motor to drive your freewheel to go quicker. All IDT's just increase your speed for the same watts, which is another way around the problem.

I dont know so much about 45min = 1.5h, but it is indeed tougher...tougher in the sense that there is no respite.

Sounds like you guys don't ride hard enough on the road

We suck wheel...what can I say

I ride on my own most of the time, so wheel sucking is a privilege. Your virtual racing sounds like fun though.

it is...and to be honest with you, that is all it needs to be....I mean we all need to train in the week and with kiddos, work, swambos its hard to fit a ride in, especially in the winter with limited sun. So sitting on a spinning machine for an hour feels like 10...this just makes it enjoyable and fun.

True. It is good to have fun and to enjoy life and it is not always easy to find the time to put in a proper ride.

Anyway, I am out of here for a REAL ride, suffering on the hills, freewheeling downhill, dodging glass, lekker tempo riding on the flats and fighting the wind

Just arrived in Durban and set the unit up. No excuses for tomorrow night. I will finish, but I will most probably finish last (been stalking certain profiles). I will pick up all your gel sachets, banana peels, etc. One of us has to protect the environment.

lekkers...just do a dry run of the course tonight to make sure all the things are working and accounts are activated. You dont want nasty surprises with 10minutes to go tomorrow night

Interesting topic chaps

Are u allowed to race with TT bars and deep sections?

Are these things clever enough to credit you with the benifets compared to friends riding normal bars and wheels?
