Showtime Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 If you're going to buy a new hrm perhaps go for a wrist or arm optical model instead. I am waiting for my rhythm+ as I don't like a chest strap and the hassle of washing it. They are both ANT+ and Bluetooth. http://www.clevertraining.com/p-10408-scosche-rhythm-armband-heart-rate-monitor-ant-and-ble-.aspxhttp://www.clevertraining.com/p-10194-mio-link-heart-rate-band.aspx
_C50_ Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 The lekker thing about the BLE strap is that it now opens up all kinds of smartphone apps to you as well. As mentioned before, I now and again use the free iphone virtual training app....very cool and works like a bomb. Sync all data to cloud and no need for dongles.... Bluetooth for the win. BLT is nice if you're only going to use it on the IDT. It doesn't work with the Garmin speed/cadence sensor though, so it has to be Ant+ dongle with the iPad route.

_C50_ Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 Confused...why would you need garmin?I have to use my Garmin speed/cadence sensor, not so? I'm on a normal fluid 2 trainer, not one of the fancy numbers.

Garfield2010 Posted July 4, 2014 Author Posted July 4, 2014 Frustrating as my ride bombed out after 5 hours when i was on the last big climb. Is there anyway we could download the whole route (excluding video) and ride it offline on the ipad? In other words the google maps profile.
Jaco-fiets Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 Lost 2.5kg since receiving the powerbeam on 26th of May. So far the impact on my training has been great!!

DIPSLICK Posted July 5, 2014 Posted July 5, 2014 Lost 2.5kg since receiving the powerbeam on 26th of May. So far the impact on my training has been great!! I've been off the bike for months, only "playing" on the IDT, went for my first long ride today, pleasantly surprisedI was chatting to ROUXTJIE , I'm sure the IDT is harder than riding you actual bike, Oh well I will keep giving the races a go, after a few weeks will have a better indication
TALUS Posted July 5, 2014 Posted July 5, 2014 I saw Dave (?) at Hakahana this morning. Tried to greet him but the boys in the A bunch is very focused! Jeez the man looks in great shape. I can now understand his numbers.

rouxtjie Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 Dave...just some results from a test Dipslick and myself ran on friday last week. The lag problem to be more specific werent present when it was just him and me...race started and for about 20 seconds he didnt move on my screen, and I didnt move on his....but then it was live...as in every second our positions and metrics were updating giving a nice VR experience...the blixem also attacked right at the end with a flat out sprint and I could see he did this. Do you think that the lag has perhaps something to do with race capacity? I dont know if this will help the developers but here is the race in question anyway. http://my.virtualtraining.cycleops.com/en/onlinerace/race-animation/440
