I think the best is to get a consistent cold start pressure to get your readings as consistent as possible, just get in the routine of "6" bar or what ever before u start every ride

I agree. Personally, I'm an 8 bar man.

Dips, do you find that, in terms of perceived exertion, that your Powerbeam power numbers are similar to those that your Bushido used to put out. Ie..as a user of both setups do you think that the power measurements of both manufacturers are comparable?

It comes down to frictional losses, go for a ride on the road with flat tires and see how much you suffer...the IDT's (no matter of brand or model) will all give the same effect with a flat/under-inflated tire - you'll have to work harder to maintain the same speed or you speed will be lower thus your power will drop off.

Its the same principle as driving a car with under-inflated tires, it'll use more petrol as the engine has to work harder to compensate against the extra drag/rolling resistance.

Not even close, my tacx was around 180, now around 220/240/260(obviously dependent on the pressure)

Not to start a slating rant, but in the same breath you simply can't compare the smoothness and life like power delivery on climbs, it's as it is on the road between the 2 units, you welcome to try mine for a weekend

Hi guys

I have done various tests and can confirm that the tyre pressure makes absolutely no difference at all on the trainer.

I have pumped my tyre 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 & 9 bar and my watts output does not seem to differ.

Glad to have cleared this up for you....

I'll create something for Tuesday night for those interested

I am going to be out for about 2 weeks. Dental surgery turns me into a big fairy. Will more than likely watch live and cheer on the slow guys.
