I am still in shock that Ennio Morricone has only just now won an Oscar for composing. . And Leo thought he waited long.. he has no idea.

I didn't believe you, I went to google ... I thought he won for the mission :(

Wow, shocking!

Academy awards are like an old school tie..... Yet unfortunately people still use them to gauge success.... I watched about 30 minutes the other night and between cringing and yawning I went to bed.... About as useful as the Grammies

Yeah. I know hey.. shocking. . He has been composing since the spaghetti western days.. (whistles the good the bad and the ugly).. we talking some very very memorable music during the years.. it's unforgiveable that he only now won..

Not that the Oscars I think mean anything to him

. .. but still shees

The oscars are supposed to be an acknowledgement from your peers , like a Loerie in the ad industry, so I think it's definitely a tick box in the list of achievements.

I never watch it, I want to see Chris Rocks opening speech though, apparently it was good - should be interesting if race quotas hit the oscars.

Kind of... But it is very biased towards the major studios..... And let's face it.. The only reason why game of spies (or whatever it is called) was nominated was because it's a spielberg film..... And then Chris rock.. The academy purposefully let him loose on his agenda of inequality so they could be like "look what we are doing now to address this".... The only problem is they caused the problem in the first place.... Sound like something local that begins with an A and ends with a C?

its a small yet subtle thing..but take notice of the plethora of catholic churches in the background of lots of scenes

It was honestly VERY entertaining. Not your traditional superhero flick. Very, VERY funny. Typical Ryan Reynolds, but as a superhero.

Yeah, I dunno, I didn't enjoy Deadpool, actually I was ready to leave half way,....maybe I am just too old for superhero's!  :D

I did think The Revenant was excellent though, so no issue with Leonardo grabbing the Oscar there.

War movie fans...

Regeneration is based on Pat Barker’s novel of the same name.  Regeneration tells the story of soldiers of World War I sent to a military hospital for emotional troubles.

Two of the soldiers who meet there are Wilfred Owen and Siegfried Sassoon, two of England’s most important World War I poets.

Starring : Jonathan Pryce, James Wilby and Jonny Lee Miller.

The screening will be followed by afternoon tea with light refreshments
