As for TV, I struggle in general to get into anything these days.

It all feels like some generic script type thing that gets slapped together week after week, when my wife watches this crap, i can never discern between shows...thank goodness theyre wearing superhero suits so i can distinguish them.

I enjoyed smallville, as said previously, well thought out. Good writing, with decent actors.

you need to troll the tv shows thread and find out whats good..there is some really good telly out there

Got Burnt on Monday.Quite a decent film actually...some lekker twists. Chatted to one of the chefs that do the early morning commute with me this morning, and he gave it a thumbs-up from a chef perspective.

I suppose we can't complain that they're at least being a little creative on this remake, but Hollywood has clearly run out of ideas, every second movie that comes out lately is a remake...

So, for those who have seen it, what's the consensus on Suicide Squad?

I watched it last weekend and I enjoyed it. HOWEVER, it is not a great movie. The characters and performances were there, but the script was shite, character motivations were odd and the soundtrack was used to artificially boost the atmosphere of certain scenes.

It's a shame, because it could've been a great movie.

An oldie, but I forgot how good it is. Picked this up in a bargain bin over the weekend. Struck me that it's almost a Taxi Driver-type film with Hoskins' character almost a bumbling but lovable Brit Travis Bickle.

*waits for director's cut to make an entry*

Nah, man. This whole DC obsession with "ultlimate, extended, director's, super, uber cut" is bollocks.

It often times reeks of poor direction or studio interference.

I love Blade Runner. When Scott's director's cut came out, I thought, I soooo preferred the original.

Interesting, my movie tastes are often closer aligned to the nasty critics than to the mindless masses who like their formulaic action movies so I will still skip this one...
