Just remember...when engaging in the fine art of bike whispering - it's not a hammer it's a "swinging press".

Makes donnering your bike feel a bit fancier.

I put it to you "Thou shalt not take a hammer to your beloved" and we all say "Yes malydi"

hi there all need some help....

After my last bike service i decided im going to start doing some of it myself.

So the first thing i wanted to look at was getting my cassette off and giving it a proper clean and if needed replacing it and the chain. So i bought all the necessary tools for the job ( chain whip + lock ring). I removed the lock nut and the smallest cog with out any trouble, but that was it the remaining 8 didn't want to move no matter what i do, not sure if its stuck or if there is something im missing that needs to be loosen!!! Was tempted to do the old Jeremy Clarkson and hit it with a hammer but decide to rather get some pro help...

Can anyone help me out please?

Regards

Dewald

You're going straight to hell for mentioning the J***** C******* word on a cycling forum.

Consider yourself warned.... ;)

the extra 40grams is so worth it for a metal freebody hub, or at least get a shimano M771 cassette with the three biggest riveted together and the next three rivited together you are not going to do to much damage to the freebody, SRAM cassettes do more damage

Maybe the cassette has eaten into the freehub body. Might need some wiggling / hammer to loosen it.
