being the weaker partner is really tough, mentally and physically. Be nice and stay friends.

use your strength to the teams advantage...pace him, help him up the hills. Most importantly don't ride him into mordor on day 1, or the next 2 days will be worse. Make sure he eats like a champ to recover

Doing my 2nd adventure. Can't wait. Also hope we get another bag. Problem with the craft shirts are the sizes are small. Therefore if you said you were XL on the entry the XL craft shirt is likely to be too small. Could be a huge swop fest at the race.

Or get the XL you stated as your size - then cycle more -lose more weight -and fit in the 'small' XL...

Easy :)

For sure! We're not there to win it;) I'm more than happy just to be riding it! I'll as supportive as I can be without being patronizing... Nothing worse than someone treating you like a soft douche on a tough ride! (I've been on the other end of this conundrum too & will probably be again sometime in the future, so wouldn't want to invite Karma if I can help it:)

I'm officially giving up on getting my size right when signing up to these events...

Gave myself up as a Large, assuming the jackets will be made by First Ascent again and having a couple of XL jackets from them fitting on the loose side. Now I see the jackets are in fact made by Due South, so no idea how that part will work out.... On top of that we now get these awesome rider shirts, but made by Craft! If I get a large in that I might as well dress my cat in that!

A Large FA jacket would've been 'fitted', but I'm afraid at 1,97m and 90kgs I'm going to look like I'm weaing a Craft boob-tube that was painted on (badly!) and probably leave the love handles exposed... FML!!!

Maybe I'm just not destined to have cool cycling kit that actually fits properly.

100% Think I'll just focus on enjoying it & making sure he gets to as well. (I'll save the teasing remarks about the geriatric category for a couple of months down the line, by which time the sense of humor should've returned;)

Since we don't get bags I am sure they would be on sale there. Any idea what their cost is?

I bought one earlier this year because we are getting jackets.

I paid R800

They alternate with bags and jackets
