Jean123 Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 What an event! First stage race, but I can't see how it can get much better than this. All the hype around this event is true. It's awesome!My partner held out well & improved every day. Yesterday's mud & slippery conditions saw me wiping out twice, but luckily nothing serious... Although I did manage to break a wooden slat on a slippery-as-a-bar-of-soap bride with my hip! Today was absolutely perfect conditions and the ride was magic!It's a must do event for anyone that loves mountainbiking!

We're not up front with the quick guys... but I'm still nervous and excited all at the same time. Sleeping over at my partner's place (much closer) and had to pack my on-bike stuff as well, looks like I've been kicked out of the house... (Never knew a sleeping bag can take so much space in a bag!) Chatted to one of my buds who did the Ride and... now I just want to get going!

Some of the rocky sections have been made smoother. You will notice that the first 5km climb has been graded so it's much easier this year.Enjoy!

It is still much more technical than Sani2C and remember that the trail have to withstand almost 4000 riders in less than 10 days. By default the racers going through over the weekend will have more challenges than the A bunch from the Adventure.

In the past there were some uncomfortable surprises if one was riding at full tilt. Last year I came off twice a day. This year one minor step off. I want to believe I am better but the truth is it was easier.
