Anyone know where I can take my medal as an donation? Wanted the fake beer and not the medal. But got handed a medal as well.

I felt very sorry for the guys on HTs on that corrugated section after the rock garden. Crap section.

Scared the crap out of me.

My right foot unclipped on one dodgy part of the route and did a bunny hop at the end and right foot unclipped again.

Great race. Reckon I'll be coughing up dust for a good few days. Managed a 3:22 for my first ever marathon.

Let it be said that Bavaria alcohol free is damn good.

My thoughts in the first 68km .I have a perfectly good dual suspension bike .Why on earth did I decide to take the hard tail out for this race .Even my steel frame single speed would have been more comfortable .I was even envious of anybody riding a 26inch steel framed 1990 DS today .Thanks for the guys that offered help when I crashed and had a flat rear tyre .The crash was just stupidity and the flat fate

The more races I do where advendurance and jumpertrax are involved the more I feel the organisers of another big race (read 94.7) should take a few pages out of their book. My only complaint was the cable ties, but hey im sure they had good intentions and bought proudly south african!! Luckily I always have spare in the back of my bakkie. I was watching the timing dude (youngster with long black hair) after Id finished and at one stage he was the only guy scanning numbers and he was doing a brilliant job, fair enough a few may have slipped through but imho he was on the ball. Thanks again guys, I will see you next weekend for DualX.

I had a good strong ride today, much better than Hakahana. Not because the course was easier, but because I paced myself more intelligently. 3:39 according to timing system, better than my 4:22 from Diamond Rush. I thought the route was quite good, but a lot of farm roads. Corrugations are a fact of life on dirt roads - so not sure why people are upset.

Ok so did some comparing on strava... looks like I did an extra loop after the camber bridge over the water. Must have picked up the normal trail signs. Glad it's me and not my GPS being silly.
