Also had Avid on and never stopped vloeking... tested some XT's and I nearly rolled up the single track when 'n hit the brakes.

I'm fitting them to my bike immediately. Had them on my previous bike as well and they are great... my 2 cents.

Didn't want to start a new thread and just had one question.

Formula RX, Shimano slx, avid sram xo brakes(does it have to say trail to be the trail type or are all the XO brakes trail brakes), what is the better of the three? I know the RX gets a bit squeely but that's Cz rotors are so soft. SLX is like the go to brake, and the XOs were would they fit in to the pic? Us there a hierarchy for the three I listed above perhaps?

Taahir: Its XO Trail to differentiate from previous model XO brakes that don't offer 4 pot calipers. With the new Guide brakes, the Avid line is going to get bumped, so while there's nothing wrong with the XO Trails, maybe consider the Guides?

I recently replaced my magura with xts as I found them on special. Super chuffed with them so far and easy to bleed also. Great brakes.

How would the guides or XO trail compare to the formula RX'S? Not many xo trail brakes in the classified section here, must mean they pretty good. Are they easily available as well?

X0-Trail brakes are close to Code-level braking power. Guides are somewhere inbetween the two in terms of stopping power, but closer to Codes than the Trails.

Can't comment on how they compare to Formula brakes.

Modulation? Could you comment on comparing them to SLX?[emoji19]

modulation? The rider is the limitation, not the brakes. Its hilarious reading some ppl bitching about lack of modulation while failing to declare what hamfisted brakedragging fools they really are. Choice of brake pad also affects how the brakes feel under braking, with resin or organic pads offering better modulation and lower initial bite than sintered metal pads.

I now have XT brakes, a lot of stopping power and it is cheap to maintain. Saw today a guy on a #Enduro bike with normal XC XTR 2 pot brakes and he seem very happy with it.

Lol. That's me then...
