I knew guys who would dog-ear pages of Wilbur Smith books in which things got raunchy. I never found his description of that part of a womsn's body as "a triangle of sex" very appealing.

Wilbur Smith - the dude that wrote about the adventures involving animals - there was raunchy bits in there? I must have been too young.

I think you may have the wrong Wilbur Smith...there was the odd animal named in the titles of his book, but not about animals. You sure you don't mean the writing vet guy?

I think Uni has the right author, but is remembering the book covers of all the African landscapes and not so much about the plots ;)

Understandable...my entire knowledge of Africa before coming here was the title of The Eye of the Tiger. I was disappointed when I found out that tigers don't actually live here.

The whole series was in our school library...so I'm sure if it was raunchy they would not have let me at them..

That or I was really just sweet and innocent - totally taken with the animals :)

Quite possibly. .

But seriously. . If you've read 1 Wilbur Smith novel, you've read them all..

Talking about Readers Digest, remember how they said they paid for stories and jokes and stuff? Anyone here submit one and ever get paid for it, or know of anyone who did?

Sounds a lot like David Gemmell...

Every book has exactly the same plot, anti-hero, or reluctant hero, who gets stuck in a walled place with an approaching army...
