Garmin Edge 500 Spares

Hi guys, I had a crash over the weekend and cracked my Edge 500's screen. Garmin dont stock this, does anybody know of a place I can get this replaced or buy spares for it?

Did you contact Garmin directly? I thought they have always been able to replace screens etc.

Maybe try the cellphone screen repair shops? On a similar note, the Ant+ for my Garmin Forerunner 910XT, was in my laptop that was stolen. Can it be bought separately, and paired with the watch?

Hard, if not impossible to get spares, Garmin will only swop outwith new units (at cost)

Suunto Ant+ USB dongle should work, DC Rainmaker had a review on it a while back. They are around R400, should be able to find one since its used with all the Suunto HR watches like M5/Quest (excluding Ambit).

Garmin don't even try to fix it - they just offer you a discount on a replacement device - so you can also get a reduced price upgrade - I trashed my 500 screen in March and they swapped it out to a 510 for about 3k - the 500 (if it is still available) was about 1300 if memory serves.... somewhere in that ballpark anyway - and you get to keep your HR straps and accessories too, as well as getting new ones with the new device.
