Sagan looked a bit off the pace today, maybe the heat, but he didn't look to me as if he was in a position to contest the win.

I read somewhere that his form is very suspect. Too much champangne with Tinkov

Ja, definitely.

I've been researching a good one for la Vuelta and came across Scorito.

I like the way they do it: with your budget available you get to pick an expanded team of 16 - 20 riders. Then you have the freedom to switch your riders before each stage, depending on the profile.

* Choose 3 team leaders that will be able to score double points.

* Pick 9 cyclists and 1 team leader for each stage.

It makes for a lot more strategic thinking - there's less exposure to 'bad luck or 'blind luck'.

I've created a Hub league if anyone is interested.

Attached are the league rules as well...

Thanks bro. I'm enjoying it too. A bit complex to move around the site sometimes, but definitely the best format I've seen in a fantasy league.

The interesting bit is trying to translate emails, etc from Dutch to English :)

Today's race profile. A puncheurs stage. Good one for a breakaway to stay away. Or for a sprinter who can climb a bit.

Sagan/Gilbert/Matthews for the win?

Who else?

I would like to see Gilbert get a win, its been a bit of a dry spell but I dont think the cat 2 climb near the end will shell too many of the sprinters, I am thinking the profile may suit someone like John Degenkolb, but Bouhanni is climbing quite well and if he gets over in the bunch!....the heat may play a part but for me Sagan hasn't been looking too inspiring.

That climb is too far from the finish, even if the sprinters are dropped they will get back on. I'm going for Bouhanni to take it.

Jaaa but he has had good season up to now, not even the great sagan can be expected to be at the pointy end for so long.

He took a break after TDF and is probably thinking of worlds next month

Perhaps they have agreed that Sagan would work for Gatto or another rider during the Vuelta, as it seems to be the case.

Omega Pharma-QuickStep will be putting their efforts behind classics man Tom Boonen today, according to directeur sportif Davide Bramati.

"Today it’s all for Tom who won twice in Cordoba, once at the Vuelta (in 2008), once at the Ruta del Sol (in 2007). He knows the danger is the downhill of the San Jeronimo. He’ll do his best to avoid a split.”

One man who is confident that he can have the better of Peter Sagan today is race leader Michael Matthews. After his confident victory yesterday, who would bet against him?

Here is what the Australian had to say at the start today, "The last two climbs seem to be solid but yesterday, we’ve also showed that our team is solid enough. We should be able to do it again. Even if some pure sprinters overcome the climb, the race will be so difficult before that some sprinters will be tired. It’s going to be a hard man sprint, which suits me really well.”

After snow at the Giro d'Italia and more rain than you could ever want at the Tour de France, this year's Vuelta couldn't be any more different. Reports coming through that the thermometer has hit 40 degrees at the finish. There'll be a few riders wishing they could take the ice bucket challenge right about now.
