Velouria Posted August 14, 2014 Share We felt like Harries Pancakes ... so we left after work on Fri, 8 Aug for Dullstroom and arrived in Dullstroom on Sat 3pm. 22 hours later, 310km. Ride report on Making Trackz link below. http://makingtrackz.wordpress.com/2014/08/14/ride-to-dullstroom-going-beyond-300/ Brilliant! Sounds like a decent enough reason to go for a bike ride with a couple of mates. 310kms and just 4 Strava achievements? I think you're going to have to do it again! Did something like this earlier in the year too: http://www.velotales.com/2014/03/2014-big-day-out.html . Thinking of doing it again next year ..... Naah - I'm not doing 336km again. Next year we HAVE to beat our record of 361kms. Perhaps not on the hottest day of the year though. Nice one! Some good reading there.I have added a link to your blog on the Makingtrackz home page. Hope you don't mind. Not at all. Although it's not CrashTestDummy's blog, he does feature a lot. Pretty much the guest star. Maybe a non-stop Joberg2c? Pants Boy and DIPSLICK

Our considerations were as follows:- Start Pretoria East, end at Dullstroom, go past 300- Gravel as far as possible and as easy as possible :-)- We headed South towards Bapsfontein to make up some distance early on, obviously not the most direct route- R25 N of Bronkhorstspruit quiet at night & safer, given no shoulder, in day time that's a problem section- We chose the R33 near Stoffberg from Loskop. It's tar and was a bit too busy on a Sat morning. Alternative was a gravel detour to the SE of Loskop but that went over a mountain :-). I would recommend the latter actually Now if you have a route from Benoni to the KZN coast, mostly on gravel ... that may earn you a long beer!
