But the fact that the timing was so messed up I don't think this will be resolved. It is typical at most races that if you don't attend prizegiving, you don't get your trophy or prize. Otherwise no-one would go and the organisers then have the logistic responsibility to get the prizes to everyone. If the prizes were not available or the medals in this case, that is the organiser's issue and they must make good.

The comment is fair if considered that sponsors put up prizes etc-so where did that go? Also they could have told us when we finished to stay for prizegiving but after finishing the race with no medals I didn't think they would be able to pull together a prizegiving.

I would call first though Emmerentia is fine, just get dressed in the car or something.
