I got hit by this lunatic on the 31 Aug on visserhoek rd going down the hill towards Hoegekraal . i was doing 65kmh when she clipped me as she overtook. I needed surgery for pins and plates in my wrist as well as getting roasties everywhere. The bitch didnt stop and drove off. Eventually she came back and was very agressive before driving off again leaving no details.

Anyone break a wrist before? How long before im back on the bike??

I have laid charges to the SAPS but they taking there time.

Anyone know this idiot??

You can ride a trainer until you can comfortably put full weight on the wrist AND brake at max braking without pain. Then you can try the road again - build up slowly on the road, the vibration will give you more pain than you get on the trainer. And post that picture on Facebook.... with a number plate like that you will find her quickly.

Heal up soon dude, hope you catch this "female dog"

This is a reason I do not own a road bike or want to own one.

I was on mt mtb bike riding from meerendal to hoogekraal. Road time was meant to be 5 mins and i still got taken out.

OP said he was on his way to Hogekraal, that is is a MTB trail so more than likely the OP was on a MTB going to the next trail after riding Meerendal for excample

I wouldnt know what a Hogekraal is, I live in JHB... if I were to guess, its a kraal that zoomer built in nkandla.

OP said he was on the road, he didnt say anything about MTB so hence me thinking he was on a road bike. The sign, the tar road and the car were what makes me think of road bike.

my bad.

Aside from criminal charges of:

Reckless or Negligent driving

Leaving the scene of an accident

etc.

You have a Civil claim for damages, pain & suffering etc.

They are entirely different matters.

Get a land shark - They will wrap it up in no time, unlike the SAPS.

I got witnesses, my riding buddy took the pic

Then you should have reported the incident to the police within 24 hours and you will be able to claim from Road Acccident fund

I just keep looking at the little girl in that pic and am really bothered. One wonders what the conversation in the car was before and after they stopped (while you were presumably lying on the ground in agony)? What life lessons did she learn that day from her mom and aunt about cyclists, empathy etc?

She learnt that when mommys in a hurry, everybody must stay out the way. Mommy said the stupid man was in the way so its ok to knock him.

14 years down the line, little girl remembers this day and realises that its ok for her to drive as such too.

Sad state of affairs
